Observations | Leaves of Three
Spring | Waxing Gibbous
I spent a good part of this past weekend diving deep into a narrow strip of land that separates our stonewall and front garden. I knew what I was getting myself into ahead of time, but there was work to be done and little time to waste. The strip is a no man's land of thorny invasives, ticks, and most definitely, poison ivy of which I have the rash to prove it. There is much more clearing to be done to make way for the native ferns and jack-in-the-pulpits, but I will need to adopt a new mantra if I'm to be spared.
Leaves of three, leave them be.
Longer middle stem, don't touch them.
Hairy vine, no friend of mine.
